Once upon a time, I believed that being in the kitchen, outside of feeding my child, would lead me to domestic unrest and be a poke in the eye for feminism.

Today, I've discovered that feminism means something completely different to me as does being in the kitchen. Food is like air and it provides each of us with an opportunity to connect and nurture ourselves and others. I believe now, more than ever before, we need more of that.

After years of designing clothes, styling and mentoring women, business and marketing consulting, writing a book, doing 100 podcasts...I decided that it was high time for a change. That change came in the form of crafting cookies made without dairy and gluten so that we could help create a more inclusive community. One where, just because you don't include dairy and gluten in your life, doesn't mean you are difficult, different or odd. That whatever the reason, it's your reason and you shouldn't have to miss out because of it...or eat cardboard (anyone else eaten cardboard cookies...they're not nice!).
Now we're on a mission to use these cookies to spread love, happiness and feel more connected to one another.

When I discovered my little one was dairy intolerant it was super scary. 

He had a severe allergic reaction and in all honesty it freaked us out. All of a sudden we went from a household that could eat anything to one that needed to keep dairy out of his reach and that wasn't (and isn't) easy given he's as fast as lightning. 

That's when my mum (above) started baking dairy free so Denver didn't have to miss out on special occasions like his first birthday. We were all surprised at how good it tasted.

When mum suggested I join her to help in a new venture to get cookies made without dairy and gluten to those who had experienced what we had with Denver or to those who wanted to eat delicious cookies made without dairy and gluten...I was all in (and there was a little arm twisting from the kids who happen to be our chief taste-testers).

Aside from my day job and being mum to 3 kids, I am a photographer and content creator for Love At First Sight Photography. It's also the reason I need to eat cookies sometimes...to get me through the day!
